Box Canyon Dam is a concrete gravity dam across the Sacramento River which forms Lake Siskiyou. The dam is 1100 feet long and 209 feet high. The dam is owned and operated by Siskiyou County and was completed in 1970 to provide flood control. In 1984, a powerhouse was installed to provide hydroelectric power.
