This is a beautiful unique manhole cover located at the 'Königstraße' in Stuttgart, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.
The manhole cover is located in the center of a compass rose, which is a part of the sister city monument located in the basement of the pedestrian area at the 'Königstraße'.
Theres a globe on the cover.
The inscription on the cover is 'Partnerstädte der Landeshauptstast Stuttgart' (Sister Cities of the capitol city of Stuttgart).
The manhole cover was designed by Ottomar from Stuttgart and created by the Franz Mayer'sche Hofkunstanstalt München.
The year of creation is unknown.
UPDATE: The unique manhole cover is missing/lost since winter 2013/14.
UPDATE: Summer 2014: it is back again!
