This station is a USGS standard bench mark disk, located in Southbury, CT. It is set in the north side of the east abutment of a steel truss bridge spanning Lake Zoar, part of the Housatonic River.
According to the USGS records, the mark is identified as "27 W 1922 120" with a recorded elevation of 121.304 feet above sea level. The notes go on to mention that the mark was reset in 1942, but no further information is available regarding this. The existing bridge was built in 1934, and therefore supports this statement. However, there is no "RESET" notation stamped in the tablet.
The road that the bridge carries was formerly U.S. Route 6 several years ago. The road is now identified as Glen Road in Sandy Hook, and River Road in Southbury.
