The boutique Savannah Winery in Canton TX not only sells wines they produce themselves, but also those wines of several popular Texas vineyards.
They do not serve a regular lunch menu, but fruit and cheese or meat and cheese plates are available to enjoy with wine purchased by the bottle or by the glass.
When you stop in, be sure and chat with the winemaker, who is also a Vietnam Vet and a bronze sculpture artist. He has designed and made a mold for a bronze soldier statue to be placed at the Van Zandt County Veteran's Plaza nearby, once all the funds are raised. The huge mold is in the corner of the dining room. Small casts (big enough for display on a desk or coffee table) of the proposed statue are available for sale, with 100% of the proceeds going to fund the statue at the veteran's park.
Blasterz are used to wineries being artistic places, but having an actual sculpture mold made by the winemaker in the winery was a first for us!
We will always remember our trip to Savannah Winery -- with its blend of fine wine and deep patriotism.

Overall Comments::
This is one of the most unique wineries we have been to, and we have been to a bunch! Kids and their requirements have reduced the budget for wine, but we still enjoy buying a bottle here and there on our travels. This unique winery is well worth a visit.
