Ko Samui (Samui Island) is a popular tourist destination in southern Thailand, perhaps more for the mature visitor rather than the backpacker masses who inhabit other southern Thailand islands. In the centre of the city of Surat Thani is a private bus company that runs hourly bus services to the ferry port 60kms to the east, Don Sak (maybe an hour on the bus). From there a ferry will convey you to the island (another hour plus). Then paradise, or a reasonable facsimile thereof.
The terminus consists of a single, one story building. Inside mostly a waiting area, outside a ticket counter. Buses park in the large courtyard. Tickets can be purchased here, or from your hotel, or any of the travel agencies around town.
