Visitors to the Inner Boat Basin within Crescent City Harbor will notice a number of plaques and dedication in this parking area. This includes a chainsaw carving of a mermaid by well-known chainsaw artist Ken Kaiser. This particular plaque within the boat basin is a dedication to all those lost at sea and also to a particular individual. The plaque says the following words:

FOR ALL THOSE STILL ON THE WATER

O CHRIST! WHOSE VOICE THE WATERS HEARD AND HUSHED THEIR RAGING AT THY WORD. WHO WALKDST ON THE FOAMING DEEP, AND CALM AMIDST ITS RAGE DIDST SLEEP; O HEAR US WHEN WE CRY TO THEE FOR THOSE IN PERIL ON THE SEA! AMEN.

"IN MEMORY OF TOM EVANOW"

I could not find any noteworthy information regarding Tom Evanow although I did find his name mentioned on a nearby Lost At Sea memorial plaque and his date of death in 1987. He also had a relative lost at sea with him (I would assume), Tim Evanow, also from 1987.
