Just east of Williams, at the plate-girder bridge that carries the Santa Fe mainline over Nevada Highway 64, is a good place to catch the heavy rail activity in this area.

This location has nice areas where you can pull a safe distance off the highway to watch activity on this busy double-track mainline. Trains pass about three times an hour most of the day. The town of Williams is just a short distance away to the west and offers plenty of historic sights plus food and beverages at numerous establishments.
