Hunebed D6 bij Tynaarlo
Aan de rand van een wijk ligt D6 er compleet bij. Wat tegelijk opvalt aan dit hunebed is dat hij vrij gesloten is. Alle stenen zitten er dicht op elkaar en het hunebed heeft 3 dekstenen. Hij staat in het midden van een veldje aan de rand van een straat in de buurt van de spoorlijn. Er zijn geen kransstenen meer aanwezig en de ingang is ook moeilijk aan te wijzen. Toch heeft dit kleine maar opvallende hunebed wel een mooi voorkomen.
Het is de enigste hunebed in de directe omgeving, maar er schijnen nog 4 hunebedden in de buurt te hebben gestaan. Het is zeker de moeite waard om hunebed d6 te bezoeken.

The rocks of the Dutch dolmen are thought to have been moved here during the Ice Age, when the land ice stretched to the middle of the country as we now know it.
Purpose:
This is one of the most beautiful dolmens in the Netherlands. All large stones stand and lie exactly in the place where they are put down more than 5000 years ago.
Even though "hunebedden" are often thought to be burial grounds, there is ample evidence that corpses were burnt instead of buried. Some of the "hunebedden" do contain artifacts thought to be to help deceased people on their last voyage.
