The Gale Fields Recreation Center at Garland's Embree Park offers a large gym for basketball and volleyball, a fitness center, and several flexibly-sized commmunity rooms where neighborhood groups or clubs can meet.
A local judo dojo meets at Gale Fields 5 nights a week and on Saturdays as well. Several Zumba classes are offered at Gale Fields, alternating with jazzercise classes. Multiple sports clinics are also offered for kids to learn soccer skills, kickboxing, T-ball, cheerleading, and dance.
