The disk says it is a geodetic control mark and is stamped as being placed in 2005. I was able to park and walk to the spot on the safe side of the guard rail. There is a witness post by the end of the bridge, next to the mark. It is not in the geocaching database but I was able to find the datasheet online at the National Geodetic Survey site. This is on the southbound traffic side of U.S. Highway 231.

The description on the datasheet reads:

DESCRIBED BY BROOKS AND BROOKS INCORPORATED 2006

THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 17.9 MI (28.8 KM) WEST-SOUTHWEST OF TALLASSEE, 15.8 MI (25.4 KM) EAST OF PRATTVILLE AND 5.3 MI (8.5 KM) SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF WETUMPKA.

TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF US HIGHWAY 231 AND ALABAMA STATE HIGHWAY 152 GO 4.0 MI (6.4 KM) NORTH ON US HIGHWAY 231 TO A MARK IN THE NORTHWEST HEADWALL OF BRIDGE OVER THE SOUTHBOUND LANE US HIGHWAY 231.

IT IS 7 FT (2.1 M) SOUTHWEST OF THE INSIDE LANE OF US HIGHWAY 231, 3 FT (0.9 M) NORTHEAST OF METAL WITNESS POST AND IS A DISK IN THE TOP OF 12-INCH (30 CM) ROUND CONCRETE POST SET FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.
