Depicted on the pub sign is a fisherman holding a carp and bending on one knee as he displays his catch. He wears a knitted hat and green fishing jacket. There is a bright blue sky and green grass as a background.

The Royalty Inn has long been a favourite haunt for anglers. Its name was changed from the Red Lion in the 1980s in recognition of this. Inside there are pictures of anglers with their prized catches and fishing scenes. Fishing tackle is also on display.

Opposite the pub is the Davis Tackle shop. The Royalty is the nearby local fishery which is supplied from a millstream near to the Museum of Electricity.
