If you're exploring the Mohave National Preserve and want to see a lot of train action, the Union Pacific mainline parallels the highway between the Kelso Depot, where there are a lot of other activities, and the remainder of the very small town of Cima. The grade crossing at Cima is a good place to stop and get off the roadway for doing your railfanning.
