Significant royal city of Most was spread on the left side of Bílina river in Podkrušnohorská Basin. Settlement here, despite the great changes it has faced over the centuries, has survived until today. In the second half of 20th century the town had to make way for brown coal mining and according to it on the other side of the river was established new city of Most.
Statues of St. Jan of Nepomuk and country patrons
The post from J. A. Dietz from the years 1719 till 1722 stood in the old town Most on the 2nd square. The statue has been placed beside the Dean church right now.
The statue is built by a bulky stone roll and is placed on a roll-form plinth, which is set by a profiled sill. In the lower, widened part of the post are inscriptions in rich baroque decorative frames and a chronogram giving the year. The volute brackets, supporting an energetic mantel-piece, are bearing free plastics of St. Wenceslas and St Adalbert in a bigger than life size. Over the cornice, from the centre grows a roll post with decorative motif (in form of hanging half wreath with blossom, leaves and fruits, plaited with ribbon) under the open-worked cornice head.
