After a first look at this sign one would be forgiven for thinking that they had taken some hallucinatory drug. It looks a bit like a coat-of-arms if you squint and turn your head slightly clockwise but that is where the resemblance ends. A comparison of the sign and the coat-of-arms of Leicester and Leicestershire show no similarities.
