It is an approximately 10 feet high square stone column, on top of which is a 3D representation of the coat of arms of Bruges with a lion and bear.
Although the fountain no longer works there are still handles on 2 sides of the column.
The spout on the fountain is rather strange and consists of two serpents hanging from the mouth of a grotesque green metal face.
