This grade crossing on US Highway 95 at the junction with Goffs Road east of Goffs, California sees lots of mainline activity.

If you're traveling the lonely stretch of US 95 in eastern Nevada and California, this is a good place to stop for a short while to catch some railroading action (but keep your air conditioner on during the summer!!). There is a nice gravel area alongside the tracks where you can park and you usually don't have to wait more than about 15 minutes before the next train passes through. You get a better view of westbound trains because just east of this point the westbound track makes a big northward loop away from the eastbound track in order to reduce the grade that the locomotives have to pull. And westbound trains heading to Barstow are moving somewhat slower.
