A former school building opened on this site in 1927 replacing a former building that was built in 1894. The stone is set over what would have been the main entrance to the school.

An interesting thing to note is that there is no boy/girl entrance ways, this school was a mixed gender same entrance, perhaps more down to the size of the hamlet than done to make a statement. The population of the hamlet is only around 100 people, and it just over a mile from the nearby larger village of Glyn Ceiriog, set just to the north of the former trainline from the mines nearby.
