Castlegar Borscht Hut is now closed.
When we passed the Castlegar Borscht Hut, at about noon, it was opened and we should have stopped. We were looking forward to taking some of the borscht home for dinner.

Some of the items on the menu are:
Borscht: a Ukrainian soup make with beets as the main ingredient

Perogi: a dumpling of unleavened dough, first boiled, then baked or fried usually in butter with onions. Traditionally stuffed with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit.

Vereniki: a cheese pocket, boiled or baked
Nalesniki: a crepes filled with jam, fruit or other sweet or savory filling
Pyrahi: a larger version of the perogi
Buffet Style: no
