The salt farm is located about 56 km southwest of Bangkok. We did a short stop while traveling from Bangkok to Damnoen on our way to visit a floating market. For at least 15 km along Highway 35 we could see the salt ponds on both sides of the road. It was a very unusual landscape for us Canadians.

Samut Sakhon is a major fishing port and also the biggest producer of brine salt in Thailand. It was interesting to see the salt-workers in action; some of them were making salt piles to dry the salt and others were carrying it on their shoulders.
