The Scenic byway passes thru 53 communities and covers over 500 miles thru New Hampshire and Vermont. It has been a National Scenic Byway since 2005. It is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for canoeing, fishing, wildlife observation and hiking, and also for history/heritage buffs with many visitors centers and history markers. Those interested in geology/ecology will enjoy the vast forests, bogs, freshwater wetland and rock outcroppings.
