After the Norwegian Lutheran Church was destroyed by fire in 1936, four Lutheran congregations eventually incorporated in 1938 as Trinity Lutheran Church. Funds started to be raised for a new church. Original cost estimate was $90,000. After the architect was hired, estimate rose to $125,000. The contractor estimated the cost at $280,000 which was revised in 1948 to $347,000. The cornerstone for the Trinity Lutheran Church was finally laid until 1949 and the final cost was $400,000.
The first services were held in the new church on April 16, 1950
