"In Villach Warmbad natural thermal waters emerge. Maibachquellen The hang together with the other permanent water-bearing hot springs of hot bath.
The difference is that the Maibachquellen are good 15m higher than the rest of the hot springs. Therefore, they carry water only periodically, so only when the water level is very high mountain. This is usually the case in May (hence the name), but in late summer, you can watch the Maibachl.
The catchment area of ??the source system is predominantly composed of well drained karst Wettersteinkalk. This Wettersteinkalke are crisscrossed by innumerable fractures seeps through which the rain water or melted snow of the winter. In deeper layers, far below the earth's surface, then the leachate meets water damming Rotlehmschichten. The water makes its way along these layers back through the fracture zones, to the Earth's surface.
In times of great rain or the snow melts, the water comes with approx. 28 ° C for days. It has large amounts of calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate.
