NY0257 - USC&GS 'N 116' BM - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This NGS benchmark was located after seeing it listed on a topography map as BM 4356. This U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark is in excellent condition and the concrete post its imbedded in is in very good condition too. There is a metal post next to the benchmark but not acting as a witness post.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 1.7 MI NW FROM BLY. ABOUT 1.7 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG KLAMATH FALLS-LAKE-VIEW HIGHWAY (OREGON 66), FROM BLY, KLAMATH COUNTY, ABOUT 1/4 MILE WEST OF A LARGE RANCH HOUSE, ABOUT 300 YARDS SOUTH OF THE GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY, ABOUT 148 FEET EAST OF A HIGHWAY CULVERT, DIRECTLY NORTH OF AND AT THE FOOT OF A SMALL HILL, 47 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 23 FEET EAST OF A T-FENCE, AND ABOUT 2 FEET HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED N 116 1935 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.
