NY0298 - OSHD 'E 317' BM - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This benchmark was located after seeing it listed on a topography map as BM 4367. This Oregon State Highway Dept benchmark is in excellent condition and the original metal witness post is still standing next to the station.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1967 3.0 MI NW FROM BLY. 3.0 MILES WEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 140 FROM THE POST OFFICE AT BLY, 300 FEET WEST OF A CATTLE GUARD AT A DRIVEWAY NORTH, 200 FEET EAST OF A POWER POLE WITH A TRANSFORMER, 40 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 2 FEET SOUTH OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY FENCE LINE AND 0.5 FOOT WEST OF A METAL WITNESS POST SET IN CONCRETE IN A 3-INCH IRON PIPE THAT PROJECTS 6 INCHES.
