This peace pole is located in Gold Star Park near Crommelin's Landing. It has four languages and is set in a concrete base surrounded by plants.

I was not able to find a sign with any information about the Peace Pole and the languages on it. The English side says "May Peace Prevail On Earth." I tried calling the Chamber of Commerce, but they said they did not know anything more than what was on their web page. The lady suggested calling a particular person at the city, but she was not able to help me either. I can recognize English and Spanish on the pole but do not know the other languages.

"The "Peace Pole", a square piece of wood carved with words of peace written in four different languages, was a gift to the City and is reputed to be the only one of its kind in the State. The "Peace Pole" was the original focal point for participants to gather at the Mayor's annual observance of the National Day of Prayer, conducted during the month of May." source: (

To get to the Peace Pole, turn off of South Main Street onto Ready Street and go past the library. The pole will be on the right just inside the park.
