Madison County Fairgrounds are not all that large but the park they are part of is quite pretty and filled with historical buildings as well as modern facilities. The fairground activity is confined to the east or rear area of the park. The most popular part of the area in the summer is the pool! The fairgrounds also host Alexandria's annual Small Town Festival celebrating the towns official designation as Typical Small Town USA by the US government in the World War II.
