This massive building of baroque inspiration is the work of architect Paul Adrien Gouny. His style reflects the prosperity of the city at the time of its industrial development, as evidenced by cornucopias flanking the clock. The arms of the town, surmounted by a crenellated tower, occupying the center of a pediment cut coils. Falling fruits adorn the capitals of the pilasters of the facade on which repeat the
armoiries2.
