This pond is situated in Netherwood Country Park, Bradbury Balk Lane, Wombwell. The Country Park is maintained by Barnsley M.B.C. There is a free car park off Bradbury Balk Lane very close to the water.
Originally this was a pond for the now closed nearby colliery.
Water varies in depth and there is a small island, giving shelter to ducks and Canada Geese. Fish - carp, bream, roach, rudd, perch chub and tench. Methods- pole, waggler, feeder. Baits - worm, maggots, caster, bread, etc.
Large fish tend to shoal in the reeds around the island. River Dove runs beside the water and has flooded the area in the Yorkshire Floods 2007.
