Dedicated September 21, 2012 on International Peace Day. Originally conceived as a tribute to Mercy Gilbert volunteer Sara Rounds, Sherry Simonek, Sara's friend since grade school, produced this visionary 'volunteer courtyard' in the confines of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center's healing garden - a full acre garden which took longer to build than the entire hospital. The garden is named for the Gila River Community, and you will find their O'odham language represented on the pole. Paver stones are set in the courtyard to honor living or deceased volunteers. During your visit feel free to add a wind chime to the tree of chimes.
Languages: English, Philipino, O'odham, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Gaelic
 Made of: Wood
