An oversized replica of a soccer ball, a basketball, and a volley ball are mounted on the sheetmetal covering of the awning over the sidewalk which leads from the main entrance walkway of the McKenna Children's Museum over to the entance to the McKenna Gymnasium that is part of the complex. This gym is located at the address of 801 W San Antonio Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130. The three balls are all about the same size, about 4-5 feet in diameter. The soccer ball is the classic black and white spotted ball. The basketball is the typical orange ball with black specks as dimples and lines drawn on it as seams. The volley ball is white with the iconic patch work of three parallel seams per section of the ball. They are large enough to be seen from San Antonio Street by passengers of the cars traveling past.
The McKenna Gymnasium hours are:
M-Th 8am-9pm; Fri 8am-8pm; Sat 9am-5pm; and Sun is closed.
The gym offers individual memberships and family memberships for 3 or more family members. The gym can be reserved by the hour; for reoccuring weekly events; and for all day. Various gym classes are available for members to sign up.
The gym entrance is on the left side of the McKenna Childrens Museum when facing the main entrance when approaching from the parking lot in front.
