This memorial is on the south side of the Otero County Courthouse. The memorial consists of a grey granite marker that has been cordoned off by stainless steel poles and a heavy chain. An unlighted flagpole is also part of the memorial. The same text appears on the front and back:

This memorial has a GI or a Medic giving aid to another soldier carved in low relief. The County Seal is at the bottom of the Memorial.

 Description of Memorial: One can tell that this Memorial is in an honored location due to the posts and chains separating the Memorial from the rest of sidewalk. Visitors entering the Courthouse from the South must pass the Memorial. It is definitely in a conspicuous location in La Junta.
