In Wellfleet, within the Wellfleet Bay Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctary, are several solar panel installations that provide power to the sanctuary and, when they generate a surplus, can sell the excess to the power company.
Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary is located on the west side of US 6, just north of the border between Wellfleet and Truro, and north of the Wellfleet Drive-In. The long driveway leads to a parking lot on the left. The nature center is a short walk from there.
There are three separate solar photovoltaic installations. One set of three arrays is just off the parking lot. Another array of a single set is just outside the butterfly garden to the west of the nature center. The third installation is on the roof of a small building to the east of the nature center.
According to a guide to the 'Green' Trail on the sanctuary's web site, the large array outside the butterfly garden and over the classroom building produce 21 kW of electricity, which supplies about 30% of the sanctuary electrical needs. What is not used at a given moment is sold to the power company. I'm not sure if the arrays off the parking lot were included. If not, then the amount of electricity generated would then be more, and, then even more of their needs would be met.
