Grand Bend Public School opened in the fall of 1874. It remained as an active school for over fifty years, until 1925 when a new school was built and the building became a private dwelling.
In 2005 the private dwelling had an addition and was renovated to house a restaurant. The inside is beautiful but no traces of the former school house are evident.
