In this episode farmer Jake has flu and is confined to bed. In his delirious state he dreams that he manages to fend off the local town planners who want to demolish the village shop to make a by pass. In his dream he takes the fight to Downing Street and gets an OBE for his efforts. When he awakes there is an envelope from the Palace.
As part of his dream Peter Higgins is persuaded to go with the local hunt. He is provided with a docile horse. However, the horse has been used to taking its late owner on a pub crawl and safely getting him home again afterwards. The horse takes Peter on a tour of the local hostelries, including the Valiant Trooper at Aldbury.
