The International Appalachian Trail (IAT; French: Sentier International des Appalaches, SIA) is a hiking trail which begins where the Appalachian trail ends. It runs from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Mount Katahdin, Maine, and stretches to the northeast for 1000 kilometers connecting up with Cap-Gaspé.
Passing by Mount Carleton in New Brunswick, it crosses the Matapedia Valley and then goes through Matane Wildlife Reserve. Next, it climbs Logan, Albert and Jacques-Cartier mountains in Gaspésie Park before coming to an end (or a beginning) here at Cap-Gaspé in Forillon National Park.
