Located about 8 km west of downtown Nelson, BC, this is actually a three part bridge, as it spans the Kootenay River by way of two islands in its path. In total, it crosses about 1200 feet of river. At the point where the river crossing is made the railway runs directly adjacent to Highway 3A, on the north side of it. I was more interested in the benchmark when we were there, so I have only one good photo of the bridge. Though the bridge is still in use by the CPR, coordinates were taken at the benchmark.

This is one bridge we'll never forget as it's where B fell down the hill on the way to the bridge and broke K's camera. Upside - that was ALL she broke.
Bridge Type: Truss

Bridge Usage: Railroad

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
