British Major John Pitcairn was shot at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Boston, Massachusetts. His son brought him to the Old North Church where he died and was put in a crypt with colonial soldiers he fought against. His widow requested that his remains be shipped back to London, however, the wrong remains were sent. The Americans know his remains are still here, but John's widow never recognized the fact that she buried a stranger and that her husband is still in America, at The Old North Church; alongside men he fought against.
