"Die in Südtirol gelegene Grödnerbahn Klausen–Plan wurde 1916 als Heeresbahn eröffnet und vorerst mit drei Lokomotiven der Schmalspurbahn Ružomberok–Korytnica (Slowakei) betrieben, bis die bestellten D-Kuppler, später als FS-Reihe R 410 bezeichnet, gebaut von Krauss/Linz, einsatzbereit waren. Sie war 31 km lang und führte von Klausen (Chiusa) über St. Peter (S. Pietro), St. Ulrich (Ortisei) und St. Christina (S. Cristina Val Gardena), wo noch die Reste des ehemaligen Kehrtunnels sichtbar sind, nach Plan. Die Einstellung erfolgte 1960, da die Bahn auf Grund ihrer kurvenreichen Streckenführung und des veralteten Rollmaterials, das im Wesentlichen aus den Fahrzeugen aus den Anfangstagen bestand, der Konkurrenz des Straßenverkehrs nicht mehr gewachsen war. Die Trasse ist heute noch teilweise erhalten, auf ihr befindet sich ein Radweg.
