Prior to the Catawba Elementary School students in Catawba attended Catawba State Graded School between 1944 and 1957, but I can't seem to find any thing out about the school including its location.
Catawba Elementary School was opened in 1957 and closed in 2005. The students were bussed to Prentice to attend school the following year.
The school building was sold and is now a resale store.
