We were on our way to the library, and saw this great bench. It is a bronze sculpture of a couple with conjoined thighs and knees, the arms, legs and facial expressions are less obvious. We were hesitant to disturb them.
The bench is by artist, Rick Haugen. It is mentioned that it weighs 500 pounds.
There is a plaque at the base of the sculpture which reads: "I am intrigued by the ambiguity of the joined figures. The union of the two figures into one and the contemplative expressions instills a sense of serenity. The sculpture is expressive, without being literal."
