This jail was built in 1901 by the town of Tabor at a cost of $167. It was built of 2x4 inc lumber with a concrete floor and two steel lattice cages for cells.

After the town hall was constructed in 1915 the steel cages were moved there.

The jail structure was later owned by the Dvoracek family and donated tothe Czech Heritage Preservation Society by Mary Dvoracek, widow of Emil.

It was moved to the Vancura Memorial Park.
