Placed in 1937. Piece has been converted to original plan as a fountain. The artist did not title the piece, "Lost Goddess of City Park," is a popular title for the piece. The artist did all the work for this piece on-site in the park as part of the Works Progress Administration. From the Smithsonian description, it states
A concrete relief of a nude female figure placed in a park lagoon about four feet from shore. The figure kneels on stylized reeds or waves and appears to hold a cloud over her head. Her head is turned to the proper left and her hair is blown to the proper left side. At the bottom of the relief are two large fish. According to the artist, Alferez, the sculpture was originally designed as a fountain and would have spouted water from the cloud.
