Quarters 16

From 1896 to 1948 this building was teh residence of the senior post officer and his family.  When Headquarters SAC moved to Offutt it became the residence of Commander-In-Chief, Strategic Air Command

Plaque erected by Offut OWC - 1976

This marker is located on an active US Air Force Base. Access to the base is restricted and is easiest accessed by active duty, retired, or reserve service members or while accompanied by an individual in that status. Occasionally there are other times when the base has more open status during the year for various events.
