At the moment this is one of the newest stations of Lisbon's metro network, located in the red line. It was inaugurated on the 17th July 2012, together with the stations Encarnação and Aeroporto, in a long time ambition for the city: a connection to the airport.

The architect Manuel Bastos designed the project.
