The sandstone statue pictures St. Giles with a hind and there is a text in Czech - an extract from St. Giles' life legend:

St. Giles was born in Athens as a son of wealthy parents. After their death he gave all his property to the needed and became a hermit in Gallia. He lived alone with a tamed hind and fed on her milk. When the Visigoth king Wamba was hunting in the woods, he aimed his arrow at the hind but he had hit the hermit by an accident. Later, Giles became the king's favorite, the king has built an abbey at the place where he first met him, and Giles became the first abbot in it.

St, Giles is a patron of breastfeeding, physically handicapped people, beggars, woods and blacksmithes. He is also asked for a help in cases of cancer, epilepsy, mental diseases, sterility and nightmares.

The statue was created by a local sculptor Jana Rejmanova from Dolni Hradiste.
