Officially opened on May 18, 2008, this two story museum has 8 rooms of exhibits, with the main themes "Earth, Water, Sky, Man". There are hands-on exhibits, a large bubble-making machine, rocks and fossils, information on Tectonic plates, volcanos, caves, and the sea, plus an art room ("Ethnic Room"), a conservation room, a Hubble telescope replica, etc. There are after-school activities and fun events throughout the year, such as an old-fashioned Sock Hop (a fundraiser).
The musuem website boasts being "the only Natural History Museum between Springfield and St Louis".
