The two obelisks are identical in shape and size and serve a decorative purpose only. The obelisks and their plinths are constructed from grey granite. Each obelisk stands on a two step plinth that is about a metre in height. The lower step is about three metres square and the upper step about two metres square. The obelisks are about five metres tall with the lower end being about a metre square and tapering to about 80cm at the top.
On the north west faces of the obelisks there is an iconic shape of Beaufoty house and beneath that the name of 'Beaufort House'. Below that is a stainless steel plaque advising that 'This courtyard is private property'.
On top of the second step on each of the four sides of the obelisks are inset lighting.
