We hugged the Spirit Tree for good luck and were quite impressed to see our reflections in the orbs. Very well done and is well worth seeing.
Commissioned by the City of Cranbrook in 2009, the Spirit Tree is located downtown in the Cranbrook Spirit Square.
This piece represents how the different roles and responsibilities of individuals come together to form an entire community, and how each member of that community contributes to the whole. The polished orbs project each onlookers reflection back to them from different angles and perspectives. Every individual is then able to see their contribution to the big picture.
The Spirit Tree stands 25 feet (7.6 meters) high and 12 feet (3.65 meters) in diameter.
