Smokey the Bear turned 66 years old on Aug. 9th, 2010. He was born in 1944 as a new member of the Forest Service to teach people about outdoor fire safety, and preventing forest fires. His signature message was "Only you can prevent forest fires".

Every time I see Smokey Bear I remember still the lyrics I sang as a child...

Smokey the Bear, Smokey the Bear.
Prowlin' and a growlin' and a sniffin' the air.
He can find a fire before it starts to flame.
That's why they call him Smokey,
That was how he got his name."
Condition of Smokey Bear:

Forest Name: Kianuko Creek Wilderness area

Hand Painted or Plastic on Plywood?: Plastic on Plywood
