The Gazebo is located as a way stop on the Ontario Portion of the Waterfront Trail Project, a paved trail system that links communities along the shore of Lake Ontario from Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, to Cornwall Ontario.
The Gazebo is located adjacent to Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Science (formerly Whitby Mental Health Centre)and was built by staff and patients from the Challenging Directions Enterprises program, a vocational training program at the centre where current and former patients are involved in vocational training program which included a woodworking program.
The Gazebo is on public property adjacent to Lake Ontario but is accessible by a paved trail from a parking lot located at N43 51.085 W 78 56.416. This parking area is closed during the winter by the Town of Whitby.
